Marc Méan, born in 1985 in Switzerland, began studying classical piano at the Vevey Conservatory at the age of 7.

In 2008, he graduated the Lausanne Conservatory in the Jazz section in which he studied with Baenz Oester, Thierry Lang, Matthieu Michel and Emil Spanyi.

He participated to the Concours de la Défense de Paris in June 2007 with the group No Square. The same year, he was finalist to the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition and wan the Friedl Wald Scholarship.

From 2008-2010, he studied at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium of Copenhagen with professors such as Django Bates, Jacob Christoffersen, Jacob Anderskov and Søren Kjærgaard.

In 2009, he formed his own trio with two wonderful young danish musician: Jesper Thorn on bass and Mads Emil Nielsen on drums.

In 2011, he released his first album under his name with his trio which received very good critics. The same year, he participated with Mats-Up to the BMW Welt Jazz Award in Münich, and won the Stanser Musik Tager competition with the Jean-Lou Treboux Group.

In 2012, he found a collaborative trio with the Swiss saxophonist Ganesh Geymeier and the French drummer Maxence Sibille called "That Pork". They released their debut album in November 2013.

In 2014, he spent three months on a Pro Helvetia artistic residency in Shanghai leading to the formation of a duo with the Pipa player Zhang Yi.

He has played in several country in Europe like France, Germany, Poland, Netherland, Belgium, Danemark, Norway, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, China...

Currently, he is working with several projects in different countries such as That Pork (CH/FR), Marc Méan Trio (DK/CH), MATS-UP (CH), David Meier’s Hunter Gatherer (CH), Paolo Thorsen-Nagel Project (DE/CH), Nicole Johänntgen Moncaup (DE/CH), Pauline Ganty Quartet (CH), Raphael Walser GangArt (CH) et Silvio Cadotsch OneTfu (CH)
